"I started working with Kim in March 2018 and to say that my body has transformed is an understatement. At the time I started, I had been doing CrossFit for about a year and a half. I was strong and had a lot of muscle, but it was covered by a layer of fat. I thought I was eating pretty well, and that carbs were the enemy. When I started working with Kim I realized that I hadn’t been eating enough and that my body actually responds well to a high amount of carbs—good carbs of course.
Kim has set my macros which I try diligently to hit, and has taught me the value of drinking water, eating more and sticking to good carbs. It’s paid off. Roughly 20 pounds later, I’ve dropped from a size 8 to a 6 and can even wear a 4 in some things. My performance in the gym also has improved—it’s easier to do pull ups, for instance, when your body is 20 pounds lighter. More importantly, my energy levels are high and I’ve retained all of that hard-earned muscle from doing CrossFit.

I decided to join Crossfit RVA in April of 2017 not fully understanding what I was getting myself into. As I worked my way through Elements, it became clear that nutrition was going to be half the battle in succeeding and improving. Lucky for me I was referred to Kim! Kim has been incredible to work with for the past 5ish months. The initial meal plan that she provides makes it easy to learn how to plan around your daily macros. She’s also really responsive to any questions you have and has lots of good ideas when you are stuck! If you’re frustrated or veer off course a bit, she’s always got good advice and a positive approach that will make you feel better and get you back on track.
I’m not sure what Kim does to find your macro levels, but it works! If I’m eating on plan, the difference that I notice in my workouts compared to when I’m not is remarkable. I don’t know how I exercised with any kind of intensity in the past when I wasn’t eating well – it makes such a big difference. As an extra bonus, she has helped me to lose 25 lbs in about 5 months by eating the right balance of foods. I would recommend Kim in a heartbeat to anyone who was looking for nutrition advice and I’m excited to work with her for the foreseeable future!
